Day 4 - Music and Mercy
The picture above is my itunes play list. It is filled with over 703 songs. All which in one way or another move me. For the past 18 months I've found myself drawn to Zen and Lifescapes music. It's very soft and at times healing for me.
We all make mistakes in our lives. Mistakes, in which, we can not take back. So, we torture ourselves in some mental or physical way. Or there are those times when we don't see our wrong until God brings it before us. That is my case. He showed me something from my past that broke my heart. When I first met my hubby 18 months prior I had just gotten divorced from Princess Charlie's bio dad and I was filled with anger. Anger towards myself for saying I do when I didn't want to. My hubby has ALWAYS been loving and considerate, but still stuck in my anger I was mean at times. There's no other way to word it. He still loved us and he knew I'd come out of it, but I never truly said I was sorry!
Yesterday, God showed me glimpses of that time and made me understand that it was time to say "I'm Sorry." I did and in true fashion my beautiful husband whispered in my ear as he held me tightly "I know and I love you more today than ever." We sat on the floor for an hour before he had to get ready for work. Listening to my playlist and allowing God's mercy and my Hubby's mercy to wash over me.

Linda: You are so correct! It feels absolutely beautiful!
I can't remember if I already asked you this, but have you done "Follow Your North Star" yet? It's a meditation CD set of 3 that has you meditate to find your path in life. It's fascinating and really powerful. It's by Martha Beck. Thought it might be something you would like to incorporate into your simplification as a means of personal growth.
ReplyDeleteAww you made me cry...again!!! I have sooooo been here..that moment when you suck it up and try to be gracefull and really your praying the other person will be gracefull and just hug ya!! Yeah..it's huge and wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you hon, Sarah
Tabitha,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I love the name of your blog -- made me smile right away! I found you on Jan Lundy's "Awake is Good," and wanted to thank you for the comments you left about my interview there. So glad you left a comment, so I could find you here. And I applaud your journey to simplicity. If more of us joined on this path, we'd all be in a better, blissful place!
Yaya: I have not done "Follow Your North Star", but I am meditating. I will look this up though. Anything that's good for me I'm all for it!
ReplyDeleteSarah: I'm so sorry I made you cry!! It's nice to know I haven't been there alone. That another wife understand where I've been and where I'm now headed. Love You Dearly!!
Cindy: Welcome! Thank you so very much for visiting me! I'm honored! "And I applaud your journey to simplicity. If more of us joined on this path, we'd all be in a better, blissful place!"
Yes! I so agree with you!!
"I'm sorry"...two VERY powerful words.
ReplyDeletePowerful post too.
I love the idea to simplify.
What an honest and real post Tabitha. And in that, your beauty shines.
ReplyDeleteA song I really like right now - the words have such deep meaning for me: "By Your Side" ~ Tenth Avenue North
I love your hubby :). And you, too, of course! xo
ReplyDeleteTabitha,
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me. You are the most soulful woman, so passionate about her journey into her truest self in God. I love that, as you well know! Kudos, hugs, bows to you dear heart for having the courage to be real, even when it means risking.... xoxo
Oh what a beautiful spirit you are and I am so pleased you have a lvoing partner. He sounds wonderful and a perfect match for you!! Hang on tight.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you Tabitha... I'm struggling with some mistakes I recently made. Doozers. The hardest part, I find, is forgiving myself. I'm so happy for you that you have a husband like that ...
ReplyDeleteWell, you did it again, girl. Flooded my eyes with tears. There are so many belated "I'm sorrys" I've had to offer. Years ago we went through a rough patch and I held onto anger and resentment for far too long. After talking it out and giving it up to the Lord, I was so relieved.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
~Shaye
nice blog - first time here - music is a wonderful thing
ReplyDeleteI noticed the picture looks like a Mac. I've been a Mac fan for about 18 yrs. It also looks like you took a picture of the screen with a camera. You should use the screen capture app which will give you a better pic. In my version it's called "Grab" just do a search for it. You can capture the whole screen or just a part of it.
thanks
you are so right how we can hold on to anger and hurt over our mistakes. I am learning too how to forgive myself and let go of this insistent need to be perfect all the time.
