A Stirring Up Is Taking Place

I was watching Joyce Meyer today and she said something that flipped a switch on in me. I've been holding on to this idea for over a year now, but out of fear I sat on it. Today, I know it is imperative that I release this idea into the world!!

It is vital to our very existence that we help our brothers and sisters. Although not everyone can do this financially there is another way. The full proof way to help someone, to uplift them out of their despair, pain or hurt.

The way to help them is through - LOVE

So, with that being said I am launching "Project Uplift."

There are millions of ways to help someone without a dollar ever being mentioned or thought of.

Examples: (All Of These Are FREE)
1. Spiritual Counseling/ Self Esteem Classes for anyone who needs a boost
2. Sending cards to elderly, ill children and adults
3. Babysit for a friend or neighbor while they get an hour to themselves
4. Bring dinner to an elderly family member or neighbor
5. Create an art program for the kids in your community (that's for all you artist on here)
6. Just be there and listen to someone who needs to be heard

I have a few women in mind from blog land whom I feel would fit in perfectly for this AND I know there are many more of you out there who can do this to. :)

I'll be holding FREE tele - seminars using many of these examples and I invite ANYONE who feels they can contribute their talents to please leave a comment here or email me at ichoosebliss (at) gmail [dot] com

  3. I think this is a fabulous idea! Since I do not have the ability to give financially at this time, I often forget that there are still ways that I can help make a difference in someone's life. I would love to help out and hear some of your amazing ideas on how to do this. Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Ah Tabby, I've been burned so many times, trying to help...how do you give so much...I don't have yer heart...even right now I'm fuming over something where people had a chance to help just by taking a second of their time and wishing someone a happy birthday AND THEY DIDN'T BOTHER...got myself into quite a knot over it, and it's just the latest...had art projects for teens when I taught school and they tore it all up and just drew marijuana leaves and bad things...but if you LEAD, I will try to FOLLOW...just an old balky mule here...

  19. My Precious Daughter,
To have you in my world is a blessing so wonderful that there are not enough words to express how much I love you! I am so proud of you for the joy you bring to others with your caring, compassionate and loving soul. I know God is working through you to reach out and bring others back into his light and love. I am with you all the way and will do whatever I can for this project and any other projects. I love you sweet one!

  20. Tabitha,
You posted this at the perfect time!!! Lately I've been feeling sort of "void" and like something is missing. I realized (by talking to my bff) that what's missing is me volunteering my time for others. I've always volunteered since I was a kid my aunt got me into volunteering at soup kitchens. Volunteering has always been a big part of my life. Everyone can give money, but it takes the rare few to give time, and time means so much to some people. I am going to call some nursing homes this week and see who needs a visitor. I miss going to the nursing home. My aunt (same one who got me into volunteering) was in one and whenever I would go visit her I would stop and chat with others and I could just tell it made their days. She has since passed away and I no longer go there. :(
But I need to do this in order to feel more fulfilled in life. Lately my life has been taken over by fertility and adoption stuff and I've forgotten to take time out for others.
Sorry this comment is so long, but this post spoke to me!
I'll let you know what I hear from the nursing homes this week!

  21. God has blessed you with a big, beautiful heart :) You are so right that there are many ways we can help besides just with money.
I love your 10 commandments, too--inspires me to make up my own.

  22. Hi, I just found your blog by way of Rachel at her JM. partners blog. I have already started my own "Love Revolution". This month, for the entire month I will be donating 100% of my shop's sales to Joyce Meyer, world missions. I've already got a couple of purchases. This is good! I wish more people would reach out to others and do what's right, what they can do.
