On this day, 89 years ago my Grandmother was born into this world. In July of 2008 God called her home to be with him. I love my Grandma and I miss her terribly, but I am forever grateful for the years I had her in my life.
My Grandma Taught Me:
*To believe in God with all of my heart
*To be strong
*To be kind and giving
*The importance of family
*What true love is
*To believe in God with all of my heart

In honor of my Grandma we (my family here & in New Orleans) will be releasing balloons to Heaven. My family here will also be doing a kind act every day for the month of September in honor of our Grams. For our first official act we took some smiley face saucers and wrote kind words on them. Today we'll be sending them to many men, women and children fighting cancer. Below are a few pictures.
Happy Birthday Grams!!!!
We Love & Miss You!!
We Love & Miss You!!
What a beautiful and warm lady your granny was! And how blessed you are to have had her for so long. And how wonderful that you can celebrate her life, and the gifts she gave you, and the lessons she taught you. When you look at her picture, I'll bet you can see a lot of you, there. What an enormous blessing.
ReplyDeleteMy grannies died when I was 5 or 6. I never got to meet my paternal grandparents, who lived in the Carribean. But I do remember being 'angry at God" for taking my Daddies mother away ~ a most beloved and important person in his life. And she was only 59. I look at her picture, and I see myself, my Dad, my sister in her.
And when I look at my maternal grannies picture, I see my mum ... and also myself. I only wish to have known then more and for longer.
Happy birthday to your gran!
What a beautiful tribute to your grandma. She sounds like a wonderful inspiration and influence in your life both while she was alive, and now.
ReplyDeleteI've passed along a SPLASH award to you on my blog, because you definitely inspire me !
Grandmothers are soooo special. I lost mine a few years back and also miss her very much. They are a generation that left an everlasting impression on our hearts and minds.

Oh Tabitha! This post broke my heart open. What a beautiful way to honour your grandmother. She looks like she was a happy and blessed woman.
